The quorum of this committee shall be 3/4 of its faculty membership.
This committee has the following duties:

  1. Prepare guidelines for curriculum development;
  2. Review courses, policies, and procedures;
  3. Use curriculum guidelines to review and make recommendations to the Senate on:
    1. Degree requirements;
    2. Program proposals;
    3. Course proposals;
    4. Course modifications and deletions;
    5. Other matters related to curriculum.

DP requires at least two thirds of HWST 281 must:
use the terminology of the physical sciences,
involve knowledge and theories relating to processes in the physical sciences, and
demonstrate inquiry that involves observation/experiment, reasoning, and mathematics..
The objection is that the learning outcomes and course outline of HWST 281 do not
show compliance with the requirements for DP.
DY HWST 281L request denied 12/8/16
The Math Sciences department is against DY designation for HWST 281L.
DY requires at least two thirds of HWST 281L must:
use the laboratory methods of the biological or physical sciences,
involve processes and issues of design, testing, and measurement, and
demonstrate the strengths and limitations of the scientific method.
The objection is that the learning outcomes and course outline of HWST 281L do not
show compliance with the requirements for DY.
